Sign-in codes, notifications, photos, permissions and getting hold of a person.
Check the number, wait a moment, then try again. Codes usually arrive in seconds but a carrier can take longer.
Localsville accepts U.S. numbers only, and the app fills in +1 for you — enter the ten digits without the country code.
If it still does not arrive: check you have signal, that the number is not blocking short codes, and that the message has not landed in a filtered folder. Then contact support.
Check three things, in this order: your phone's permission, quiet hours, and the per-category switches.
Notifications need permission from your phone first — if you declined it, only your phone's Settings can change that. Then check quiet hours, and that the category you are expecting is switched on.
Find them in the notification list: open the filter, then Notification settings.
It is almost always the file size — the limit is 8 MB. Most phones can export or share a smaller copy.
Accepted formats are JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC and HEIF. HEIC is what an iPhone produces by default, so camera-roll photos are fine.
Also check you are not at the limit of six photos on that profile or offering.
You may see an error naming only JPG, PNG and WebP — HEIC and HEIF are accepted too, despite that message.
The profile is no longer public. Its owner may have deactivated it, it may have been taken down, or it may have dropped out of view because something it needs is missing.
Old links behave this way on purpose: Localsville shows a calm "unavailable" rather than pretending the profile is still there.

Through the App Store or Google Play, like any other app. The download page links to both.
If something is behaving oddly, updating is a reasonable first thing to try — Localsville is being improved often.
That is normal if the app is not installed — the page works in a browser too. Public profile pages are real web pages, so a link you share always works for the person receiving it.
If you do have the app and links are still opening in the browser, check that opening supported links is enabled for Localsville in your phone's app settings.
Something required is still empty — usually the tagline or the way you connect. You need a display name, a tagline of at least ten characters, a community, at least one lens, and at least one connection option.
You also have to have accepted the current Terms and Community Guidelines. If they have been updated since you last agreed, the app asks you to accept the new version first.
The app also expects a story and at least one offering before it treats a profile as ready.
Because you have a commitment in flight. Deactivating is refused while you have a confirmed appointment, or a pickup or delivery that is paid or under way.
That protects the neighbour on the other side. Once it is finished or cancelled, deactivating works normally.
Edit your profile and change the community — it applies immediately, with no review.
If you are a Place with a confirmed street address, changing community will require the address to be confirmed again, because a Place has to be listed in the community its address is in.
Yes — a real U.S. town can be added when you enter it. Localsville checks the name against a public gazetteer of real places and creates the community if it exists.
Invented town names are refused on purpose, so nobody can create a community that does not exist.
Being able to create the community is not the same as finding neighbours in it. Localsville is starting on Oʻahu, so elsewhere you may be the first one there.
