What is Localsville?
Localsville is the trusted local network where real people and places nearby can find each other, buy, sell, book and get paid. It is a free app for iPhone and Android.
Do I need to be a business?
No. If you do something useful, make something or have something to sell, you belong here. You create a Person profile and add what you offer. No company, website or storefront is needed.
How do people find me?
People nearby browse and search in the app. Search looks for people who actually offer what was asked for, and the best matches come first. Your profile stays up, so you do not have to keep posting.
What does it cost?
Joining, creating a profile, listing what you offer and messaging are free. A service fee applies only when a payment is completed through Localsville: 12% of the first $500, 10% from $500 to $2,000 and 8% above $2,000. It comes out of what the provider earns. Nothing is added on top of what the customer pays.
What does “the first 1,000 accounts” mean?
The first 1,000 accounts can create and keep their profiles and offerings on Localsville free forever. Standard service fees apply only when you get paid through Localsville. It is 1,000 accounts across Localsville, not per region.
How do fixed prices and custom quotes work?
You choose for each offering. With a fixed price, a customer sees the amount and requests or buys. With a quote, the customer describes what they need and you reply with one clear price. Accepting a quote is what opens payment. Until then nothing is charged.
How do appointments work?
For a service, the time and the place are part of what the customer pays for. If you share your weekly hours, a customer can choose one of your free times and pay. If they need another time, they propose it, you offer a time, and they accept and pay. A time is reserved once it is paid.
How do I get paid?
Through Stripe, into your own bank account. You set it up once. Money from a completed job is held for 7 days before it is paid out, or 14 days for newer profiles and larger jobs.
Can I just browse?
Yes. You can browse and search in the app without an account. You sign in with your phone number when you want to message, save, book or buy.
How is this different from other ways to find local work?
It is people, not a directory of businesses. You do not pay for leads, clicks or a better position. Your profile does not sink like a post in a feed. Customers see a real person with real offerings and real prices, and the conversation, booking and payment happen in one place.
Are there ratings or reviews?
No. Localsville has no star ratings and no public reviews. People choose you for what you offer and how you present it.
