A Place on Localsville is somewhere real in your community: a shop, a studio, a café, a garden, a community room. People nearby can find it, see what it sells, check when it is open and message it.
Being on Localsville is free, and so is creating and running a Place. A service fee applies only when a payment is completed through Localsville.

A Place can be found in one or more of these. It also picks one kind, such as bakery, salon, studio, farm, gallery, market or workshop.

Shops, studios and workshops that trade.
Community Spaces
Gardens, rooms, libraries and shared workshops.

Clubs, groups and regular gatherings.
What a Place can do
Show what it is
A name, a description, photos with a cover banner, its kind and its community.
Sell items
A Place can list items with photos and prices. Up to fifty active offerings.
Post when it is open
Set weekly opening times. Change them whenever you need to.
Get messages
A signed-in neighbor can start a conversation from the Place profile. You reply from your account.
Show its address, if you choose
An address is optional. It appears on the profile and the map only after it is confirmed and you switch it on.
Show its people
A Person can be shown as being at a Place when both sides agree. Either side can end it at any time.
The Place sells things. The person does the work.
Services belong to the person who performs them. So the barber, the repair tech and the teacher each keep their own Person profile, and the Place connects them.
- Run a shop? Create the Place, and list what it sells.
- Do the work yourself? Put your services on your Person profile.
- Link the two, so customers see both the spot and the person.
- A Person profile always stays its owner’s own.
Before you add a Place
Who can create a Place?
Any signed-in account. One account can hold up to ten Places. Only create a Place you are entitled to represent.
What does it cost?
Nothing to create or run. The same service fee as for a Person applies only to payments completed through Localsville. All fees
Is a Place verified?
A person reviews every Place profile before it appears. Localsville does not check business registries or licenses, and there is no verified badge.
Can a Place pay to rank higher?
No. Localsville does not currently sell paid placement, boosts or sponsored ranking.
